Hello,
Iām Tatianni
Turning Towards the Cosmos
Having been born a mermaid, learning I was a pisces was an affirmation easy to embrace as a child. It inspired an enchantment with the zodiac that glittered around me until it began to take shape in a consultation with an astrologer 17 years ago. A door opened into the universe that I am, a universe composed of infinitely more than my pisces sun alone. Captivated, I began a journey of learning to read charts for myself.
This journey has escalated into a devotion to the craft. It has brought me into continued study with some of the worlds most influential astrologers. This unceasing enchantment with the planets permeates my every moment, and has become a practice, a ritual, far beyond my chart. It is a practice of reconnection and of constant reframing.
In reuniting with my ancestral cultures I am in the process of reclaiming identities erased both in my own lifetime and throughout my lineage for the past 400 years. Coming into relationship with our cosmos is a reclamation of my birthright and an honoring of my ancestors, and for us, all that is, is both ancestor and alive.
My Lineage
I am a forever student currently deepening my astrological studies with Tony Howard and many other leading astrologers such as Kelly Surtees at Astrology University. My education there allows me to explore many different approaches to astrology in depth and has helped me to develop a grounded, holistic practice using techniques that work in the real world. I use the whole sign house system, traditional rulerships, and center compassionate honesty in providing the most useful information a chart wants to share. Outside of my AU education, I am dipping my toes into the intersection of astrology and herbalism, as well as horary and electional astrologies. My greatest teacher is and will always be our earthly home.
Outside of astrology, I have an education in poetry and aesthetics, which continue to be great passions. I studied at the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies, a community-centered undergraduate program at the University of Redlands in Southern California.
Akutu Irka Mateo and the Sacred Taino Healing community have guided my journey as I reconnect with my Taino roots. I honor my ancestors through spiritual practice, environmental and political activism and education, creative pursuits, and spending as much time as I can in wild places and with the flora, fauna, and ancestral spirits that inhabit everywhere I go. I reside on Lenape land in Brooklyn, New York.
